AP Calculus

AP Calculus is a precollege course offered by the College Board and is divided into AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC.

The AB program covers basic calculus knowledge, while the BC program contains more advanced content and more complex topics for more challenging students.

AP Calculus exams are centered around the core concepts of variation, limits, and functional analysis, and the BC course is specifically subdivided into 10 units, while the AB course covers eight of them.

AP Computer Science

AP Computer Science is divided into two subjects, Computer Science A and Computer Science Principles, commonly referred to as Computer Science A and Computer Science Principles CSP.

▪️ CSA focuses on practical, i.e. program programming skills. To be precise, it is a concrete implementation of the JAVA language, which focuses more on object-facing knowledge and more on the concrete implementation of code in terms of inheritance, polymorphism, and algorithms.

▪️ CSP favors theory over specific programming code. That is, conceptual knowledge points and basic computer knowledge, such as the form of data stored in the underlying, how the system is converted, coding principles, etc., involves a wide range of knowledge, the way of examination is also different.

AP Program (American High School System)

The American High School AP Program has 22 categories and 37 subjects, and has been commonly offered in more than 15,000 high schools in the United States. It allows high school students to be exposed to college courses in advance and avoids the duplication of courses between high school and junior college.

AP exams are scored on a 5-point scale, and candidates can earn a score of 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5. Generally a score of three or more can be exchanged for credit at a university, but there are many special cases where certain prestigious universities accept scores of 4 or more or 5, and some universities do not accept AP scores.

Almost 3600 universities in more than 40 countries have recognized AP credits as their admission reference standard and the test for candidates to add college credits, including Harvard University, Yale University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, Imperial College of Science and Technology and other world famous universities.

AP exams are held annually in May and have been offered in 80 countries around the world.

AP scores have become an important basis for admission to U.S. universities. According to a nationwide survey conducted by the American College Advancement Advisory Committee, AP test scores have become one of the most important factors in the consideration of admission to many colleges and universities because American colleges and universities have generally taken the performance of students in AP exams as a measure of whether they are capable of studying in colleges and universities.

Passed AP courses can be credited toward college credits and exempted from college courses, helping students to shorten college hours, skip a grade, and save money on expensive college tuition. What's more, according to statistics, high school students with excellent AP test scores have better performance and development in future college studies, and U.S. colleges and universities have regarded AP scores as an important indicator of students' ability to learn and research, as well as their ability to cope with difficult college courses. Students who take AP exams with a high number of subjects and high scores are looked upon favorably by prestigious U.S. colleges and universities. The United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and other countries also make it one of the main conditions for granting scholarships.
